Yarra Ranges Food Connections aims to connect the local Yarra Ranges community to help us all work together in creating a sustainable and local food system.
We meet monthly (online) and would love to see more community groups and members coming along to share what is happening in their community. Even if it is just the once.
To provide leadership and expertise to support the creation of a resilient, sustainable, equitable and healthy food system across the Yarra Ranges.
To continue to develop a shared understanding of the current food system and what would be required to establish a resilient, sustainable, equitable and healthy food system across Yarra Ranges.
To provide leadership and advocacy to facilitate, plan and build capacity within the community for food system resilience.
To encourage and advocate for leadership at all levels within organisations for ongoing commitment to food systems approach and contribution to the group.
To build partnerships, identify stakeholders and establish new initiatives that improve food system resilience.
To undertake a community consultation to increase understanding of our food system and identify community priorities for action.
To support vulnerable groups within the Yarra Ranges to improve food security and resilience.
Identify research, funding and communication opportunities, for example the development of shared branding and logo design.
Support the establishment of operational working groups for specific projects.
To advocate for ongoing commitment to sustainable food systems from their organisation.
To establish a shared platform and voice for partners in the Yarra Ranges working towards food system resilience and sustainability. Completed
