Plastic Bag Free Dandenong Ranges
Our small group of sewers get together each week to chat, laugh and sew up a storm of reusable shopping and produce bags from donated materials. Keeping the material out of landfill, the bags are great for a myriad of uses including fruit and vegetables, both when purchasing and storing in the fridge. The small sheer material bags can also be used as a reusable spice bag for chutney and sauces or whenever a bouquet garni is needed.
The bags are sold in local Hills businesses such as Kallista General Store and Proserpina Bakery, available via the FB page and donated to a range of community groups. All money goes back to keeping the sewing machines in good working order, buying thread or is donated. We are a Friends Group of the Southern Dandenongs Landcare Group.
